The Directorate General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture, the Italian Cultural Institute in New York, and the Italian Academy for Advanced Studies in America at Columbia University in New York are launching the call for the twentieth edition of the New York Prize (Premio New York), a residency program for emerging Italian artists.

The winners of the Prize are offered the opportunity to spend a 5-month period in New York (February 1 – June 30, 2025) with the goal of developing their creative skills in contact with the cultural and artistic environment of the United States, particularly in New York. The selected artists can participate in cultural activities organized by the Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Academy and may attend lectures at Columbia University as auditors, with the instructor's approval, on subjects such as art history, film theory, visual arts, and architecture. At the end of their stay, the artists will organize an exhibition of their works at the EFA (Elizabeth Foundation of the Arts) exhibition spaces in Manhattan or at other institutions in Manhattan or Brooklyn.

To participate in the call, applicants must be Italian citizens residing in Italy, born after December 31, 1989, have adequate knowledge of the English language, work in the field of visual arts, and have held at least one solo exhibition. Scholarships are awarded at the sole discretion of the Commission.
