NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM - Evening Openings at the Archaeological Park of Ercolano

Published on September 4, 2025

Throughout September (except September 11), the Boat Pavilion and Antiquarium will also be open in the evening every Tuesday and Thursday.

The Boat Pavilion offers a journey into the maritime world of ancient Ercolano, thanks to finds such as oars, ropes, and fishing hooks, which tell the story of the city's connection to the sea. The highlight is the military spear, found on the ancient beach: a unique artifact, probably part of the fleet sent by Pliny the Elder to rescue the population during the catastrophic eruption.

The Antiquarium recounts everyday Roman life, with a unique focus: the collection of ancient wood, including furniture, utensils, and tools, charred but perfectly preserved thanks to the absence of oxygen in the pyroclastic flow that submerged the city. An exceptional heritage, enriched by refined gold objects, symbols of the taste and luxury of the ancient inhabitants of Ercolano.
