The new Jazz IT Abroad call is online

The call Jazz IT Abroad is online, a project promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and managed by the Fondazione Italia Music Lab, which through its Italia Music Export office provides jazz artists with a fund aimed at reimbursing expenses for the performance of concerts abroad.

Who can participate in the Jazz IT Abroad call?

Both artists and realities active in the musical field established in any legal form can apply to the Jazz IT Abroad call. For example, management, booking, press office, event organizers, production, edition or record distribution. Each artistic project can be the subject of only one application, whether it is made by the artist himself or by third parties. To find out more, read carefully the text of the call. Furthermore, participation in the Jazz IT Abroad Call of Italia Music Export does not prohibit participation in other Calls or financing initiatives of Italia Music Export and Italia Music Lab.

For what type of activity can I apply for funds?

The projects eligible for the Jazz IT Abroad call provide for a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 30 concerts, held in the eligibility period, ie from 01/01/2023 to 30/06/2023. A concert or date is a live performance for which the artist (or his representatives) has entered into an agreement providing for the public performance of his or her repertoire. Expenses can be incurred from 01/01/2023 to 30/06/2023.

What are the refundable expenses?

For each phase of the Jazz IT Abroad call, logistics costs, accommodation costs, merchandising costs, promotional expenses and customs expenses (e.g. A.T.A. carnet, entry visa or temporary work visa, etc.) are eligible. It is possible to request a maximum gross support of € 7,000 for each application.

By whom and how are projects evaluated?

The proposals will be evaluated by an independent Commission made up of experts from the Italian and foreign music industry and a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (the names of the members will be published on the italiamusicexport.com website) based of the following criteria:

● Experience of the applicant and path of the artist.
● Quality and experience of third parties involved in the project.
● Quality of the proposed project and strategic coherence with respect to the artist's career.
